Subject: Scared of biologics

Hi all,

I was dx in December 2010, and have had a rough time on mtx (20mg, side effects, less than effective). My esr is still over 50 and now my rheumy wants to start me on Actemra (Tocilizumab). In short, I'm rather terrified! Anyone else on this drug? Would love to hear from bdmard experiences, good and bad...

GG

Thanks cookie. Actemra is a monthly infusion, takes around an hour. My biggest fear is allergic reaction, have had some horrid rx to other drugs in the past. Glad cimzia is working well for you :-)

Just giving this a bump... sorry if bad form! Hoping someone out there has had experience with Actemra, should have put it in the Subject.
