hi everyone,i have quite mixed feelings again,i will try to cut a long story short!i have been getting pains in my joints, hands and feet for well over a year and a half.on friday i went to have nerve condution studies and he said i have got carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands.i have also had an ultrsound on both my hands and the results showed normal bones and joints with no evidence of inflammation.i just wanted to know if anyone else has had the scans on there hands and the results was same as mine and you have been told that you have artheritis, because i feel im going round and round in circles, and getting no answers.any advice would be much appreciated.:)

NOt sure Sarah - at my last visit to the rheummy they told me that i have carpal tunnel as well. I have a diagnosis of RA but there has been inflammation. I think there is non-inflammatory arthritis but i am sure that someone will come along with more knowledge than me re that. It is so difficult at the start, its frightening and the long waits between appointments leaves you with so many questions. Do you have a rheumatology team, if so could you ring the nurse? Sorry haven't been of much help.

Have you had blood work done Sarah? The definitive marker for RA is a +ve anti-ccp. esr and crp are also likely to be elevated, and rf +ve. I had symptoms for around 4 months before the RA showed in my blood. Hope that helps a bit :-)
