Subject: cortizone injection
hi all - can't sleep, heart pounding and an awful feeling of anxiety - had a cortizone shot on thursday and am wondering if that could have something to do with it don't think it could be the metx or the painkillers. anyone any suggestions.

Bless you, i have had cotizone shots and have never suffered heart pounding or anxiety after. I have had throbing in my chest which is musculaskeletal disorder. I dont know if this is what you have but i must say the first time it happened to me i went to A&E i was that scared.Try to relax a bit and if you are really not sure what is going on then seek proper advice.Maybe phone NHS direct. Mads this arthritis is such a nightmare you never know where the pain is coming from next. I hope you feel more relaxed soon you take care. I am sending love and get well wishes to you. X

HI Marlene, thank you for all your good thoughts - nice to have company in the wee hours - (i usually go to bed by 9 so this is the middle of the night for me) spent some time looking up about the steroid injection - it can cause anxiety...... this is my third in as many weeks so maybe i have a bit more cortizone running around my body than usual but i am thinking the mobility is getting better - my 10 year old was shouting - poor girl was having a nightmare and when i got out of bed i didn't have to wait for ages to steady myself i was not bad at all, not running, or even walking properly but not stopping so long after each step...

Hi Mads I think with my first one I did get some wierd feelings a little while after or possibly a couple of days later which I said it must be related to it as not sure what else it could be Im pretty sure the 2nd didnt do anything but I permantly feel weird at the moment. Hope you feel better soon

Mads, hope you got some sleep last night, i managed four hours LOL. I am often on the site late at night i have problems most nights sleeping.On reflection when i had my set of jabs they did mention i may feel a bit nervvy and anxious. I had totally forgotton as i dont remember having any side effects. I am in agony to-day i have been cursing a bit (nothing unusual) i am going to try a bit of gardening last time i finished up toppling into a shrub scratching all my arm, heres hoping i used to love gardening but i am begining to find it a bit of a chore. Any way back to you,have good day and take care.
