Subject: getting sent for a medical after appealing DLA claim
hi was wondering if anyone had any advise or if anyone has had a medical i received a letter saying a mediacl officer was coming out to assess my dla claim i any so nervous about this a do not know what to except i have PA and applied for dla through the cab who filled most of the form out when i recieved the letter sayin g i was turned down it was stating things that i had clearly wrote on the form that i couldnt do they were saying i could do it ( which i cant) i just dont know what to think and was wondering is it standard to send someone to your house?? if anyone has any info i would appreciate it i am a bag of nerves

Hi Lynn, I got turned down for DLA at first too. (I also have PA) I just had to appeal and then got lower rate care awarded. I dont know how often people get sent for or have medicals at home... but I do know of a very good site called Benefits and Work that hopfully will be able to give you more information. There is a fair bit of free info on there (alot more if your a member) and the forums are excellent. People are always asking questions about DLA etc and there are some very informative answers. had the medical today and i am so reliefed that it has been done the dr was a nice gent who seemed quite nice i am just glad it is over with.

yes lynn i was so stressed i got myself into a right state but i think it has gone ok still dont know if i will recieve any award and to be honest i dont think i could go through with a tribunal but i shall just need to be patient and see what happens. thanks lynn
