Subject: hello and anti-tnf advice.

Hello how is everyone, sorry not been on for a while but been so busy and not been well.

just a question for all you embral or anti-tnf users, i take my embral on tuesdays and i feel quite well wednesday-friday then sat i start to feel worse and sunday-tuesday i am in so much pain and can't hardly do anything. is this usual?
this as happened for 3 wks in a row and this is my 5th injection 2morrow.

i hate this mare than before when i had extremely painfull day's because i can know how to deal with everyday and what i can do. now when i'm having good days with not a lot of pain during the day i want to do everything and when i get to the bad day's i can't do anything and it depresses me.

i know its good to have this mediation and i am lucky to get good day's cause some of you don't so sorry to rant.

on a good note i have now been sent to see someone regarding my knee's.

hi kazzie. good 2 c u back on line. u can always ask ur rheumy 2 increase the dose of the enbrel or inrease pain meds. i was on enbrel b 4 and the only reason i quit was i got a bladder infection more than once. it did work tho. sounds like u need a bigger dose

Hi Davina
I'm knew to this forum but often read for advice! I inject with Enbrel weekly and for the first three months it was like miracle but then didn't seem to work at all. Now I take Arval (Entanercept) daily and I get quite reasonable results. When I had to stop Arval for three months (yes infection!) I really regressed but once back on it I am improving daily. So maybe this is the answer for you

Hi Davina

I self-injected enbrel twice a week and if I missed one I knew about it - youi may need your rheumy to double the dose!

This is interesting because I've missed a couple of Cimzia shots due to infection and I get worse quite quickly. I'm surprised it doesn't have a longer lasting effect.

Hi davina

I've been given the all clear - woo hoo!!! I finished chemo in January, had surgery in March and 4 weeks of radiotherapy and finished treatment on Good Friday. I'm so pleased it's all over. I'm just having a tough time at the mo with the arthur 'cos I can't take anti-tnf, mtx, cyclosporin or gold injections because I've had cancer. Sulfasalazine doesn't work for me so the rheumy's trying me on leflunomide. I'd been on it for two months and getting no better so he doubled my dose last week so I'm waiting for an improvement. Fingers crossed it works. In the mean time, he's been put in touch with a rheumy in London who has been researching anti-tnf and malignancy and if she thinks it's ok for me to go back on it then my rheumy will be happy to go ahead as the limited data available suggests anti-tnf actually reduces the risk of a return of a malignancy.

Oscar is brilliant thanks, he's 8 months old now and becoming a real little boy. I am loving being a mum more than anything in the world :-)

I hope you get on well with the anti-tnf, it was life changing for me

Hi Davina,

Trina has kindly agreed that I can post on here to ask whether anyone is willing/able to take part in some market research. We will pay £250 cash to participants to cover all expenses.

The research will take the form of a face to face interview next week and relates to a new injection device (you wouldn't be required to inject yourself during the interview).

We are looking for people self-injecting with a minimum of 3 months experience. Anyone wishing to take part must be using one of the following:
Enbrel
Humira
Methotrexate

We are particularly interested in anyone aged over 60 or those with severe RA in their hands (but certainly wouldn't exclude any others if they meet the main criteria).

If you are interested and able to travel to central London on the 6th, 7th or 8th of June please do get in touch. Please note that in certain instances we may be able to conduct the interview in your home or place of work if this is more convenient.

For more information on our company (just so you know we are legit!), please visit www.creativemedicalresearch.com.

Thanks,
George
