Hi. I have dry eyes and find I cant wear my contact lenses for as long as I used to before they feel uncomfortable. Been struggling with this for nearly a year now and it wasnt until I was told that RA could be the problem at my first consultation with the consultant few weeks that I realised it conincided with me getting steadly worse. I think RA makes the rules up as it goes along its merry way!!

Poor old Arthur, hey gets blamed for everything! I too have dry eye which is Arthurs fault. I use viscotears when they're bad which seems to help. I also get weird occasions when my eyes flare and I get stringy bits in them, then my eye swells up like I've gone a round with Tyson. Attractive huh!?! Try some liquid/gel eye drops, should sort you out Kayjay! x

Thanks girls yes Lucy the GP gave me some drops but just recently I have a very dry throat as well !! I start talking then my voice just sort of trails off and I have to have a good cough as though my throat has ceased up !! Anyone else have this as well ? Suppose it's another one to blame on the old Arthur !!

There is another add on illness that you can get with RA, symptoms are dry eyes and mouth, it's called sjogren's syndrome. Google it and read about it. GP can prescribe eye drops and mouth spray for it. Oh the wonders of RA!!!!
