Subject: Thumbs up for ESA:)

Hi, for once I am happy to say that I give the ESA decision maker that took the time to phone me today to ask me some questions about how RA was affecting me, then informing me that she was overturning the medical assessors report which had only given me 6 points, a BIG THUMBS up and ty for taking away the stress of a tribunal:)
It is very rare that I have found myself in such a lovely position with them.
Just thought I would share this with you all and hope that those of you who are experiencing problems with them get the same result...
Now into battle with the DLA...........

FAN ... BLOODY ... TASTIC!!!! If I could do flick-flacks I would be doing them right now for you Dilizjo. Wow - that must be a relief off your mind. I'm so pleased for you. Thanks for sharing that. I'm sure that will be really encouraging for those out there who are still having to fight the battles. Kirst - if you are going to tribunal, the latest is a waiting list of 3 - 6 months. My advice to you would be to get them to send you the point allocation and then nail them point by point in a letter. Tell them why they are wrong.

Hi Kirst, when I got my report which was not worth the reams of paper it was written on I went through it with a fine tooth comb, then phoned the ESA.
I had been awarded 6 points for walking but that was all no where near the 15 required, so I went through the report on the phone with a ESA decision maker, she said I had mentioned that I could do jigsaws.... I had but what the assessor failed to mention was they were with my grand daughter whose jigsaws are very big pieces.....
I made a big issue of my fatigue at the assessment but all she wrote was I looked tired.... she put my naproxen dosage as 5mg 2 times a day when in fact it is 100 times that.
My advice to you is make sure you get a copy of your report, if they haven't sent you one, and go through it letter for letter, then phone them and bring up anything that you feel that has been skirted around and always take a witness to any medical assessment you have with them, you may need their back up.
Good luck with your appeal and please keep me updated. xx xx
