Hi Lynda, I am really sorry to hear you are having problems with your employer, they are clearly ignorant to the pain and issues that RA gives you. I don't know whether this will help but look at Disability Rights... it clearly states how employers should legally act and what stratergies can be put in place to make the workplace a better place for you. you can find it on the Direct Gov website.
A big hug and hope things go ok:)

You really need to look at Disability rights i worked for a company like this. Gave a pregnant girl such a hard time about appoinments at GPS and Hospital. She took them to task after reading goverment web site i say good for her. Work has no right to make your life for difficult they should be helping you.Bless you take care dont let them get you down. Keep smiling X

hi
Unfortunatly i,m in work today i only work 3 hrs a day , cleaning a school belive me its not good when u suffer with this god awful desease, ive been haveing a rough time lately, like u Mads i have to hang on to funiture to hold my self steady , and my hands are so sore i some times think it would be better to have them chopped off ,.. but i still take my pain relief just so i can work , as i have a young child at home and a morgage to pay and still my bosses warn me if i take any more time off i will get sacked ,.... they have put me on a final warning, so regardless of pain i have to work , and this is the local council , i,m at my wits end as to what to do ,......so for know i rest when i can sleep when i can , and pray some of these meds start working soon , .. hope u have a good day tc x

aww Carole i feel for you, that must be agony,my job is mainly desk so it is not as bad. that is so ridiculous about the final warning, really, do you belong to a union or anything. It makes me so mad it is so unfair. How long have you started taking medication? I am on metx and they expect to see some signs of improvement within 8 weeks. Carole is there anywhere you can turn to for advise, it just doesn't seem right that you have such stress on top of the ra.

Hi Mads
ive been on MTX for about a yr or so, so to be honest i dont think its doing me much good , i think i,m just having a major flair up at moment and feeling sry for my self ,lol.... yes i do have the union on my side, but there r always ways around things for these companies to get rid if they want , they gave me a litter picker so i dont have to bend to much and they gave me a new mop bucket so i dont have to ring the mop just squeeze it instead ,lol.... its a joke , so i just hand in there and carry one with the fat finger gang lol.... tc have a good day x

I'm worrying about work at the moment. Not about my bosses and time off etc. They are great about that. Just worrying how much longer I'll be able to carry on carrying on. I've got a meeting with Access to Work this week to look at even more adaptations and support. All we can do is keep positive and try to listen to our bodies. Rest when we need to.

Im still off as still got internal tremors and something I might just have to live with for a while but my PA is flaring up.

Its been 2 weeks now as the stress of worrying about work is making it worse but I dont want to go back incase I go off again.

Its a vicious circle but id rather take more time to get it right even if the worry about my job is getting worse

Do you know what - I think you are all completely amazing for carrying on working. The symptoms of RA/PA etc are so debilitating yet you are all trying so hard to get into work everyday. I just couldn't manage to do that. You should be proud of yourselves. Just a pity some employers have no compassion really. Hope you all feel a little better sometime soon. Take care....x
