Subject: bit of a party last night
still haven't got on to metx because of infection but its clearing up - yesterday morning i had my diclofenac sr and then 100mg of tremadol and then we all (husband +2 kids) went visiting - the craic was good and hospitality great but i forgot my pain relief. I accepted a glass of white wine about 8'oclock and then another and then another. Feel awful this morning not hungover but very irresponsible all of my pills say don't drink alcohol.

Is it really though? I've been searching the net and nowhere does it say that you should definately watch what you drink, it's just a sensible recommendation. I know I'll get shot down in flames and also know it's bad but due to alot of things I've been doing at least 70 units a week for the past 2 months and am on 15mg of MTX i don't feel any worse in fact a few pints take away the sicky feeling...

You know what tom as long as you are aware of the fact re safe limits its your choice i think as a group we loose so much to this disease i for one wont loose my glass of white wine. I dont drink much but thats because of my princesses getting up at 5.30! !!!! Rather than anything else.

I'd like to just make clear that I wouldn't encourage it. Obviously it is better for your liver to not drink much or at all whilst on MTX. Have spoken to a few friends who are GP's and they say it is exagerated, I'll take a couple of weeks off now but already looking forward to friends birthday alldayer which I shall jump into with all my might :)

@ Tom, like ur style! I go for fatty foods when I inject my mtx but pints sound much more fun! @ all, I drink with my medicications, you should do the nothing in excess, but stuff it we all have enough to deal with so why not enjoy urself!?! x

I will Marlene, thanks for concern. Just to add also, I don't drink any spirits, wines or strong lagers, just weak bitter and weak lager. I did have a few ciders a while ago and that made me feel alot worse. Bottoms up!
