Hey Sandra. So weird - I just said to my partner: "Right ... that's IT!! I can't stand this anymore, I'm taking some morphine!" And it's the same thing. That horrible achey feeling all over and feeling quite miz with it. I wonder if the weather is on the change again. That usually sets me off. Try to hang in there hon - and I will try to too. And I'm sure there are a good few others out there going through exactly the same thing at the moment. All I can say is that we do understand how you feel. It's not fun and it's not easy. Be kind to yourself yeah!?

Yes Sandra I get the same feeling most days. The only thing that works for me is Oramorph alongside my other meds. I hate taking these meds because of the side effects but I am grateful for them at the same time. Perhaps your pain killers are not strong enough. It is not good being in pain all the time. I hope you feel a little better over the weekend...x

Hi Sandra. Think your butransorphine patch is very similar to morphine. I take Oral morphine (Oramorph) at 10mg per 5ml spoon. I am down to two spoons a day but when my pain was at it's worst I was taking five spoons a day!!! It is a good pain relief for me. I also take Celebrex which is an anti inflammatory, prednisolone and my new med is Hydroxychloroquine (plaquenil/quinoric) to try to slow down the progression of the disease. Easier said than done I think. Without the morphine life would be very painful. It is bad enough with it - lol. I think perhaps you need to talk to your Rheumatologist/GP about a stronger patch or different pain relief. Please don't suffer....x

Hi sandra

I know exactly what you mean. I tried explaining it to my partner and it feels like flu. I get waves of hot and cold pulsing through my body and I just want to curl up into a ball under a blanket with a hot water bottle. I suppose as the disease is our immune system attacking our joints it could easily make us feel ill with it as if having flu; I know my glands around my throat always inflame when I'm flared up and are so painful to touch.

It's nice that we have each other to chat to, my partner is amazingly sympathetic but it's so difficult to explain how the condition makes you feel that it's nice that there are people on hear that experience the same as you.

Take care everyone.

Hello all,
What is this condition that you are all talking about? I often ache all over, especially my arms and lower back and R.hip, legs too sometimes.
It seems to come and go with the weather. Have had this problem for years and normally take apple cider vinegar twice daily with good effect but that does not work so well lately.
I do have a bad knee from from diagnosed arthritis but this pain is different; I can't make up my mind whether the pain is in my muscles or joints.
I am female, 71 y.o. and fit and healthy otherwise.
Can anyone help?

I have psoriatic arthritis and before I was diagnosed I thought i had had a few bouts of flu. It does feel just like it. Weak and aching all over and hardly able to move. Today is a day like that. I ofte get it at the weekends. I work full time and over do it and then come crashing down on a Saturday. i feel awful because my husband is doing most of the housework. He's so lovely about it but I feel dreadful to see him doing it all. I have gone back to bed. Standing up my feet feel as though I have spent hours walking. Even my hands ache and when I move I get sharp pains. I try not to take the strong pain killers and to rest instead when it overwhelms me. In a day or so I expect I will feel better. best wishes everyone

Hi Taffyn, just like to say we all have different form of Arthritis but a lot of the people on here have Rhuematoid Arthritis. If you are unsure about all your new aches you must go back to your GP or Rhumy Team. It sound like your arthritis may be spreading. Good Luck
