Subject: Allergic to Aspirin

Hi there, just found you whilst looking for info on DLA! What a fantastic group! I do have a quick question as no one doctor wise seems to give me an answer. I have OA in my back, hips, wrist and neck but I am allergic to Aspirin which means I cannot take any anti inflammatories - does anyone else have this problem of allergies and if so any ideas to help with pain relief - I have tried various from the docs from Tramadol, Gabapentin, Diazepam with all of them making me incredibly sleepy but not really taking the pain away. I have tried various homeopathic remedies and am still in agony - any ideas would be apprecited

Hi Laura I am another one with not being able to take anti-inflams, have you tried Tramacet i find these a little easier to cope with. I find them great for pain. Have you tried Hydro Therapy with your NHS. It is great for excersise and the warm water works wonders on the old bones.I have had two sessions out of the six you are allocated and i cant wait for the third. The physio guy is very aware of not making you overdo things.Ive heard the acupuncture is good not been offered so far. Well i hope you get more info and sending you best wishes for getting help with your pain relief.
