Subject: osteo arthritis of the knee
Hi, I have just been diagnosed with osteo-arthritis in my right knee. I have not been tested or scanned, they just assume because I am 55 that is what it is. I am finding the pain quite difficult to cope with. On my first visit to the doctor I left with 100 paracetemol. Surely you can't just keep taking these? I went back and was prescribed some pain-killing gel (doesn't work). The pain is much worse at night and I can't sleep. Any advice on any other meds I could ask for would be welcome. I can imagine some of you are in far more pain than I am so forgive me whinging! I just feel there must be some better treatment. Thanks.
