Subject: Painfull knees
i just can't cope with the pain and stiffness in both knees had RA for 8 years and never been this bad , been in flare up now since Dec 2010 my GP is doing nothing just stronger pain killers my Daughter gets married in 8 weeks and the thought of being on crutches as i am now is making me depressed don't know what to do !

Have you spoken to your rheumy nurse hon. My knees are most badly effected when theyve been really bad like yours steroid injections and having any fluids drained has been so helpful xx

Can your gp refer you to physio?? Acupuncture or hydrotherapy could be really helpful, especially as you have the goal of your daughters wedding? I'm a physio (with RA) and really think it could help. I hope things get better soon and you can enjoy the wedding crutch-free Nicola x

Definately recommend steroids for a turbo boost, injections into the knee, followed by rest for 48 hours. Your rheumie should be able to sort it out, give them a call. If your GP is crap, bypass them - I never speak to them about my arthritis - just get my prescriptions! Good luck and try to relax - cant imagine the stress of the wedding is helping either x
