your opinions please... ive read a few new scientific studies on this subject which have focused on the cannabinoid constituent called cbd which was given to rats with collegen induced athritis (CIA) which acts in a similar way to RA. The cbd component was found to work as an antiTNF and anti inflamtory and in most cases completly haltled the spread of the disease and reversed the effects. the only problem is that in normal cannabis cbd is found only in small percentages 0.001% compared to the phsycoactive constituent THC 15% although ther's a new strain called canatonic which has won an award at the spannabis cup. it produces 50/50 split between the two components. all this info is readily available when googled. as far as using cannabis as medicine does anybody have any genuine experience as i am leaning toward this as im not keen on harsh synthetic drugs.

Hey Daniel, I have smoked cannibis for pain relief from my arthiritis. It is a muscle relaxant and eases pain. This is not something you should try if you need to drive, work, do anything important lol as you may find a change in your motivation. I would not recommend heavy useage as this can lead to mental health problems but not addiction to other drugs as indicated by others. I would use this with caution, as with any medication it is a drug and you should monitor you use and be careful where you source it from. It is illegal and you can be prosecuted for its use

I know a carpenter guy who could not do his job without it's use he has had loads of back surgery and is in constant pain. However I also know that heavy cannabis use can cause quite serious psychological effects so it's a case of use in moderation and make sure it doesn't become a serious ' habit '. And like Sarah says it is illegal and [ I should imagine ] getting it could place you in a dangerous situation so take care where you get it from.

Hi again Daniel, I so understand were you are coming from. I tried for nearly a year not to go down the toxic drug route my rhummy was not impressed but very patient with me..
I took loads of natural medicine, I also changed my whole eating plan, stopped drinking,did meditation, anything that might get rid of it, (I was in big denial of it to by the way) so my body was very detoxed. I was so dissapointed everytime I had my blood done because it was showing more and more inflammation so after trying everytrhing I could I gave in and took the mtx.
Like I said in my last post I have never looked back, however my plan is once I get at least one year of low esr and crp I will then stop the mtx and try my natural medicine again.

I have osteoarthritis, cannabis helps me more than any other drug have tried and I think it's a huge shame I can't get a prescription for something that helps me so much. Getting hold of it is a pain and I wish it could be legalised for medicinal use. It's a proven anti inflammatory, muscle relaxant and pain killer. Do some research on the net about its medicinal use in USA. Studies have proven it works. As for the mental health problems I read that this affects adolecents, and one you're past 21 the risks are greatly reduced. Plus nowhere near the risks involved with prescription drugs.

i know of the cons as i was a very heavy smoker when i was in my teenage years, and became increasingly paranoid from the rocket fuel i was tokin on.......now years later ive just cropped sum homegrown medical seeds off the internet and it really helps me alot, plus it puts me in a good mood and i find things funny as sh*t, i actually forget about the arthritis. as far as it being criminal...so be it, it only abit for me at least im not putting money in drugdealers pockets and funding REAL underworld activities

i spoke to my gp regarding canabis and he was telling me that you can get it in tablet form that is perscribed to you however he said he is a big believer in it NOT working for arthritis so would recommend it but i shall find out for myself lol
