Subject: Foot surgery for relief of RA

Hi, i am new to this site, hello everyone.
I have been advised to have surgery on my foot to relieve pain and improve my mobility.
Surgery would include MTP of Hallux fusion plus weil of 2nd 3rd and 4th toes.
I wonder if anyone has had this surgery as my consultant advises me to think very carefully before making a decision.
Hope you can help,regards Joan

Hi Joan, I had full foot reconstruction 8 years ago and within 2 years my foot was back to the same shape as before, toes all twisted. The operation itself was quite painless, only the pins in my toes for about 6 weeks were a bit of a nuisance and in the long run it wasn't worth it.
