Hi Suze
I was on Mtx and sulfasalazine and when the effects started to decline they swopped the sulfa for leflunomide - I take 20mg daily and was taking 20mg mxt. We then reduced that to 15mg. I was fine, with no side affects but in the last couple of months my pain and inflamation have gone up and my hair has been falling out which my GP puts down to all the various RA and non-RA stress I'm under but my Rheumy thinks may be the mxt. I've now stopped taking that and I'm waiting for the ok to start the anti-TNF Remicade which I will have by infusion and I'll keep taking the leflunomide.

I am sure you will be fine as they will monitor its effect on you - it is part of the process of finding the right cocktail for your specific needs - I personnally prefer a Long Island Ice Tea cocktail but there you go!!!

Good luck
xx

Oh Boy! I couldn't be on my feet like that - I don't know how you do it - if I was wearing a hat I'd take it off to you!!!!

I gave up work in February as I just couldn't deal with a very stressful job. I was so used to being able to juggle 10 balls at once pre-diagnosis - suddenly couldn't even pick one ball up, let alone juggle!!

Today is that 'other day' you've mentioned above - feeling any better???? You know what I did the other day to cheer me up? I went into town, got a coffee and sat looking at everyone and you know something? I have RA and hobble about but I'm not bad looking (in a good light!!)and don't have a diabolical dress sense (despite having to wear comfortable shoes!!)and I'm certainly not rude and ignorant so I'm actually doing OK!!!!

Chin up, forward march!!!
