Subject: enbrel injections

hi all im new on here, my name is ant and im 36! had ra for a year now. got it 6 months after qualifying to become a personal trainer so not that happy!!! put on enbrel 3 wks ago due to the aggressive nature of the ra. My crp and esr levels were both above 100, After my second injection had my bloods and my esr was 28 and my crp was in normal range!!!! WOW so much pain and swelling has dissappeared, i just wondered if anybody else had this happen? just HOPE it lasts? Im not trying to rub it in the face of people who have no reaction to any medication, just SO SO happy!!!

Hi Ant,

Really pleased that the Enbrel is working for you, I started on it along with Methotrexate about 2 month ago and i'm pleased to say it's working for me too, although I'm not completley pain free n have my bad days at least I can get out of bed on a morning now, gone r my sporty days and that's what guts me the most :(

Have u had to stop been a personal trainer now? It's awful having to give up the things u love doing! I'm 24 n been playing rugby for 12 years n it's been really hard to give it up but since I've been on Enbrel n Methotrexate I've managed to get coaching my own under 16's girls team n I absolutley love it :)

We're in the wars aren't we but like Ant said, we've got to keep smiling :)

Totally understand where your coming from with the weight gain, I've put on loads n it's getting me down, I'm over eating on my miserable feeling sorry for myself days and then I'm feeling so tired some days it's hard to motivate myself to excercise....I need to sort this out!!
