Subject: Help .... daughter has PA and is worried re motability allowance

My daughter has PA - she has been getting high rate motability and low rate cares. She has been back to hospital and they have now increased her medicatiion again as it has now spread up all her body and is in her shoulders. Her mobility does not run out until Sept 2011, but she has asked for a new claim pack as she needs to have a car to get around but can't do it as she does't have 12 months left, she is now worried that she won't get the higher rate, even though her dosage of medication has increased and her condition has got worse. They also think she may have some sort of blood disorder, because her feet keep bruising. Can someone please advise if there is a chance that they will stop her motability????????

Tracy sorry can't help you there. Hopefully someone will come along who know the rules better than me. Have you asked a benefits office or Citizens Advice Bureau . Also I think there are also carers help centres around the country becauase I've been to one before but as my Mum's carer and they were very nice, they also do legal advice as well.

I agree with Kay's advice. I can't see why they wouldn't renew it. Perhaps talk to her consultant and explain about the car?
