hi katnapp

i just started sulfasalazine a week and half ago, no problems with it so far (apart from orange urine) but i always do take it just after ive eaten, have you got to build it up slowly, 1 for the first week, 2 daily for the second week etc? one bit of advise tho drink plenty of water to help with any possible headaches

good luck with it x

Hi

I have been on Salfazalazine since May this year. I have the orange urine butt not many other side effects. I had been on steroids for a month to reduce the inflammation but symptom free 90% of the time. with the 10% being very mild.

Until end of August and have been in the worst state possible. Last visit to consulatant got me a shot of steroids and a hint that the tablets aren't perhaps the best for me ... will wait and see

Hope the side effects go soon

hi Knapp, I've have inflammatory arthritis but don't know which one either. I noticed on my hospital prescription he had written RA as the diagnosis even though I'm RF negative. He told me ages back this is a notoriously difficult illness to treat. Not great to hear but useful to know. I'm currently on Hydroxychloroquine so can't help you with the meds.

Hi sally,i have the prescription i will have a look at it later for clues,i did feel as though i was expected to just sit quiet while he filled out my prescription and say thank you at the end, mind you it was nearly 12 so perhaps his mind was more on what he was going to have for lunch rather than my silly little illness bless him how unthoughtful of me

Shame you don't have a sympathetic consultant. Mine is lovely with a good sense of humour (he always makes me laugh.) He phones me or writes me a letter if I have a query and copies me into all his correspondence so I don't feel he is hiding anything. Perhaps you could write to yours and ask him what you want to know? He'd have to reply.
