Subject: update to:no place for me at work :(

Well i went back in for my second meeting with my manager to discuss me coming back in a different role or my role made easier...would have helped if he had hard the decency to turn up!!!i was left sat kicking my heels for over half an hour while the deputy manager tried to find out what was going on,in the end i had to have the interview with him and the upshot seems to be they cannot create a role for me i can come back at reduced hours and do part sales part admin but for only 12 weeks then i will have to resume my sales role which i have repeatedly told them i cant stand for long!!! so it seems to be stalmate,i just dont know what to do!do i risk it and go back or see what the consultant says,

Hi Katknapp, really sorry to hear you've been treated so badly. I'd talk to the jobcentre re 'Access to work' or CAB or a union if you have one, as this is direct disability discrimination. Don't give up without a fight! I've been asked by my employer to see an Occupational Health nurse to assess any needs/difficulties I may have when I return so I'm watching this space! Good luck. x

Hi Kathy, I was told that there is no such thing as being 'registered disabled' though if you have had any help from the council they put you on a disabled register!! Not the same thing at all, it's just a list of their more vulnerable residents but that's all it is as far as I am aware. I just had the OT team round, that's enough to do it where I live. Might be worth a shot.

Have you contacted USDAW, the shopworkers union?
xx

Hi Sally,im going into the jobcentre hopefully tomorrow if im well enough ive been laid up with pain in my back,it was my manager who said there wasnt a lot to be done for me as i hadnt been registered disabled i had a feeling they were trying to fob me off,he kept telling me how they were having to cut costs and hours so its pretty obvious they want to save money by getting rid of me as im no longer provitable,he said they didnt have to create a role for me but are willing to ease me back into my old role(was banging my head agaist brick wall at this point!)im not going without a fight but it dont help when your own doctor is not very supportive eitherx
