Subject: x-ray

For 43 years [I'm now 59 y.o.a.]I have had problems with both feet resulting in arthritis, at the moment I am taking prescribed morphine tablets to help me cope with the pain.

Over the past five years I have developed pains in both hips which means I'm unable to sit too long. The pain has increased over the past year [approximately] and I now have difficulties sleeping due to the pain in my hips - I have to keep changing positions in bed.

This week I had an x-ray - only one which was taken with me lying on my back, I thought this was peculiar as the source of the pains were on the hip bones near my bottom. Can x-ray see damage which is behind bone?
