Subject: Psoriatic Arthritis Question.

I have a query which maybe someone can help with. I've been diagnosed with PA. I have suffered from Psoriasis for about 36 years

One of the joints affected is my left knee. I get what I would call flare-ups and at this time the knee feels hotter than normal and is swollen along with pain.

If it was Osteoarthritis am I correct in saying that it would be painful all the time since the joint is worn whereas with PA the pain/heat/swelling would occur at the time of a flareup...?

The reason I am asking is because I've just had knee X-Rays carried out and can't get to see my Rheumatologist for a while. I'm no expert but the X-Rays of the knee joints look normal to me.

At the time of the X-Rays my knee did not feel too bad with no sign of swelling or heat from the joints.

A GP I saw some time ago reckoned it was OA whereas my Rheumatologist and a general surgeon have diagnosed PA.

The symptoms seem to tally with PA as far as I can see, but I would appreciate your thoughts.
