Subject: Bad reaction to my second week on sulfasalazine
So, the second week of meds, had to take one in the morning as normal, then another before bed Well, woke up in the night shivering, was sick twice, then the fever came, hot cold hot cold! Every move I made in bed was agony, my tendon has flared up in my left wrist so have limited movement. Im having the worst flare Ive ever had & felt very sorry for myself, my lovely parents came over, not sure what I would do without them, also my seven yr old has been having to do things for me, thats the most frustrating thing!! Anyway, rheuny nurse said to carry on with just 1 tablet & got to see her next weds. Ill be glad when today is over, as long as I wake up better, fingers crossed! Rant over lol Karen x

Hi Karen, sorry to hear you're having such a bad time. Each night when I go to bed I wonder how I've survived another day but hope that its a day nearer getting better. Its useful hearing about other meds tho as I'm in my 9th week of Mtx and was wondering if maybe I should be on something else but at least I'm not getting horrible side effects like you so I should be glad of that. Hope it soon settles down for you and keep us posted! Shirley x

Karen I know how you feel.I have been frustrated for Quite some time now`I ended up in the hospitol after my second infusion of Remicade and got pnuemonia after 3 infusions of Orencia. Now I,m on Enbrel. So far so good, but I,ve yet to feel better infact I was thinking maybe I feel worse as they cut down on my prednisone and the Enbrel may not kick in for another month.

Hi Marianne, I work for a market research company that specialises in the medical device field. We are looking for RA sufferers that inject Enbrel and either live in the London area or are willing and able to travel to London to take part in an interview. The interview will relate to a new device to help RA sufferers administer their drugs. We will pay £200 to cover expenses and the interview would last approx 90 minutes. Would you be interested? Please do get in touch if you would like to know more - george.ashford@creativemedicalresearch.com Best regards, George
