Subject: Psoriatic arthritis- fingernails

hello i have been suffering from Psoriatic arthritis for about 7-8 years now....i never had skin problems or anything (except my skin goes really blotchy after having a bath) only joint problems (a couple of fingers, a toe, left knee, usually only 1 joint will flare up at a time)..

but in the last year or so i have noticed some of my fingernails have started going a slight yellow/orange colour and the nail is starting to kind of pull away from the nail bed (currently on both thumbs, left middle finger and right index finger)..its not really bad and its barely noticable but its getting me abit worried..

like i said in the 8 years i have had PA i have not had any kind of skin problem...is it unusual to get only fingernail problems years after being diagnosed with PA? can i expect the skin rashes in future? please help im abit worried and i dont see my rheumatologist again until november...

Hi Ashley, I have had PA diagnosed since april but i had inverse psoriasis for a couple of years before. My nails are getting worse, pitting and yellowy colour, coming away etc. i have been told that MTX will fix these nail problems...
