Subject: Changing from Methotrexate to Leflumonide

I have had RA for three years. I was diagnosed very early on and was started from the very beginning on methotrexate (7.5 gm) and salazopyrin .I have had very little infammation and regard myself as being very fortunate. Two of my aunts had RA and had a harder time from the start.Though I dont suffer from inflammation I do find taking methoterxate difficult as I feel exhausted and very upset for 2 to 3 days a week...I have a rheumy appointment on Monday and we are going to discuss changing to leflunomide...I really dont know what to think. I dont like the drugs I am on but they really help.If I stop them for a few days I notice the difference.Leflunomide could do the same but without the side effects(though there could be others)..I dont want to make the situation worse and upset the balance .I was wondering if anyone had any experience of changing from methotrexate to leflunomide or could throw some more light on my situation,You could say I should count my blessings! Thanks
