Subject: Weather & ra
Hi I was diagnosed with ra when we were having the hot spell, I thought that the heat may have made it worse (had a flare up for a couple of weeks) but now the damp, colder weather seems to have arrived, I can feel my aches coming back (although I had a steroid jab a few weeks back which helped a lot) How, if so, does the weather affect you? Hi Karen, I remember back in February thinking that my shoulders will probably feel better when the warmer weather arrives. During Spring my aches progressed at an alarming rate and I was diagnosed with RA and puts on meds. I thought I was improving over summer albeit very slowly but yesterday eve was really bad and felt like I was back at the start again. Its really tricky to say if its the weather or not but I think mentally if you can sit in the sunshine it makes you feel a bit brighter than indoors on a damp, wet day. It does seem that all these meds are as unpredictable as the weather tho!

Hi Karen and Shirley, I have aches and pain whatever the weather, But I do seem to have a lot more flare's in the winter or when it is damp,But after saying that I have just come back from a short break where the weather was very hot, and hardly had any pain, still very stiff but the pain and ache was nearly gone. I reckon they should give you holidays on prescription lol ha ha. t.c.
