Subject: Getting blood results tom, what should I make a note of?

Hi

After seeing the consultant & having blood & xrays taken, I have an appointment with the rheumy nurse on weds.

What results/numbers am I looking for so I can see how good/bad I am?

Hi. Karen, The main one I look for is CRP. Normal should be below 5. It reflects how swollen and inflamed your joints are, mine has recently been as high as 48 but some people have much higher readings, Hope this helps and good luck. Dell

Hi Karen, I've stopped looking at mine! They tell me if anything is wrong. I just go on how I feel.

As Ive only just been diagnosed, I was interested to find out how high/low they were, its all interesting stuff lol

Hi there! Yeah defo look out for CRP that shouldn't be more than 5. Mines currently 69. And another is ESR which shouldn't be more than 10 mines currently 47. You should always as said above go by how you are but these results are kinda 'proof' to the Rheumy you really are suffering and need help. Go well X
