Subject: A product aid for people with arthritis
Hi all, I am a product design student at Bournemouth University and I am soon to begin my final year. The majority of this year is taken up by solving a specific problem through product design. Since beginning my research I have become increasingly interested in arthritis and becoming more aware of how much it affects people. Before beginning this project I didn't realise how many people suffered with arthritis and how much it really impacts their lives! I can see that a lot of work in the past has gone into providing people with products that are much easier to use and therefore making peopleās lives a little easier. The reason for my post is I too am interested in designing a product for people with arthritis. Many tasks have already been made easier through product design however I am searching for a common problem I can help solve through design. This could be a problem that hasn't been solved yet or one that hasn't been done very well yet. It can be to do with an every day task or a hobby such as DIY, gardening etc. It could be a re-design of a product or an attachemnt for products for example. If you can think of any problems that you or someone you know has difficulty doing, that product design could possibly improve, it would be fantastic if you could let me know!
