Subject: LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone

Has anyone else tried this drug? I heard about it a year ago and decided to try it because I did not want to use any of the drugs they are using for RA. LDN is used as an off label use for auto-immune illnesses, and other illnesses. I am very happy to say that it has made an amazing difference in my arthritis. I have had RA for 28 years, and so far, aside from steroids, this is the only thing that has really worked, and has no side effects either. Some people get vivid dreams for about a week, but that never happened to me. I still do get flares mind you, but I only seem to have a flare about 3 - 4 times a year now. When I have a bad flare, the doctor shuts it down with an IM injection of Kenelog. The rest of the time I take noting but LDN and feel great. No pain and no swelling. Even when I do have a flare, it doens't seem to be as bad anymore since I started taking the LDN. If anyone is looking to try something different to control your arthritis, I really suggest reading up on LDN Low Dose Nalrexone and seeing if it might be right for you. I gave it a full year, and now I never want to be without it.

Hi Chris, so glad you have found something that works for you. Sorry I havent heard of LDN will look it up later. Sounds realy good that you dont get any side effects. Its realy great when you hear of someone getting so much benefit from a medication I hope it continues to help. Take care.

Hi Chris, I am very interested in LDN. I have researched this and it does seem good although it is not being given by the NHS. How did you go about getting it. I am on Methotrexate and Salozopyrin with Melocicam for flares. I am fed up of taking all these toxins. Do you pay for yours? they say that it may cost £15 to £20 a month I wouldn't mind the cost if it was better than anything else.

I've been on Naltrexone for another condition on the NHS. If you do take it you have to be careful what pain meds you take as it's an opoid blocker so would counter act things like codine, dihydracodine and Tramadol as it blocks the effects. Defo talk to a dr before buying it and don't buy it online whatever you do. Go well X

Hello Chris,
I have some questions,
Where do you buy your supply of LDN?
Is it in liquid form or tablet?
Does your GP know you take it?
How much do you pay for it?
Thanks

Sorry, everyone, I have been offline for a bit. In answer to all your questions, I live in Canada, so I get my supply of LDN from Smith's Pharmacy in Toronto. They mail it to me. It is in a tablet form, and costs about $35 a month. My GP knows I am taking it because she prescribed it for me.

As far as I know, it is available in the UK. I know of one doctor in ireland who is prescribing it. Can;t think of his name at the moment.

Yes, some people are using it for the treatment of PA. It can be used to treat any autoimmune illness.

I had my doctor prescribe it for me. I went to my doctor with the information on LDN, and talked to her about it, and asked her if she woul be willing to prescribe it to me, which she did. Some people aren't as lucky at getting the prescription. Many doctors refuse to try it, why, I'm not sure. If anyone wants to try it and their doctor refused to prescribe it, I have heard of others going to a natropath to get the prescription because they are much more receptive to trying it.

I am now embarking on something new to add to what I am doing now to see if I can get rid of whatever inflamation and pain I have left, and get rid of all the flares. It is another natural, no side effect product. I will let everyone know what it is when or if I get any results, and what happened
