Im on the injections now as the tablets were making me feel awful and wernt having much effect. Ive found the injections ok but think im going to have to start something else as its still not having much effect but i must admit the sickness has magically reduced to just one day a week :)

Hi Phil, ive been on injections three weeks now......MTX jabs, feeel brill, no sickly side affects like the tablets....however, if U think the MTX isnt working, U shld mb go see ya rhummy, becos u may need extra help drug wise, like the Anti TNF, Im also on Enbrel injections...NO side affects from that at all.....slow up the flare ups too.....not pain free, that wld be a miracle, but decent painkillers help.....im having a flare up at mo, fingers, hands hurt at mo, and left knee has gone ugh!!! anyway, these meds dampen down the disease, but keep ya chin up, they do keep it under control to a point tc Jill

Hi phil! With mtx pills I was sick 7 days a week but with injection nothing just the obligitory being wiped out for 24hrs. You've gotta bear in mind mtx can take up to 8months the kick in and start working. Last month after a year and no effect from the mtx I was put on Ciclosporin but came off it at the weekend coz side effects unbearable. I'm now waiting to go on anti TNF Infliximab/Remicade as i'm reliant on prednisolone, depot steroid injections and morphine which is doing me no good. Good luck and keep us posted. Go well X

MTX Injections r Brill, doesnt go thur the gut, so protects ya tum, where as the pills go via tum, of course, as I have Gastritis, taking MTX jab has been a life saver....No side affects at all that ive noticed tc all x

Hi, I am taking Lethumanide, does anyone know how long it takes to work?I have been on it for about 10 weeks, So far no side effects but it is not making any difference either, apart from I actually feel worse! i am still using steriod tables and injections to keep RA under limited control. Has anyone tried the new biological drugs? do they work? I have tried Sulfazine, gold and hydro chloriquine all with a bad reaction.I am a 43 years old Mum, and had this since 16 years old, but since Dec 2009 it has been worse than ever, both knees, feet, ankle, wrists, fingers, neck and shoulder. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks JH

hi Phil, I've had to stop my mtx injections because I was getting repeated infections. My nurses said the injections are stronger than the tablets. Must admit I felt dreadful after mine but only had one before I got sick! Not trying to put you off but they don't suit everyone.

I have Crohn's Disease with spondyloarthropathy - one of the lucky 25% with Crohn's that also get the arthritis problems. I have a long list of drugs I'm on. Started MTX tablets in December with horrible stomach ache etc. Now on MTX injections but still losing one day a week feeling rough. No stomach pain but queasy and wiped out. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one this happens to!
The trouble is I am on a pathetically low dose of 5mg. Started on 7.5mg but my blood counts went too low. I'm just not sure whether to stick with it or not. There is a little improvement but I'm not sure that it is worth losing a day a week for. What sort of dose is anyone else on?

btw, u arnt the only one that has issues with the meds, honest, its normal to feel crap on these meds, but it shld get a bit better, in time x
