Subject: Cyclosporin
Hi guys! I have been in a pretty bad way of late and my GP increased my morphine allowance and got me into the Rheumy today. The Rheumy gave me yet another depot steroid injection and has put me on Cyclosporin. I'm on a starting dose of 50mg twice a day. I have heard of it before but didn't know it could be used for Arthur. Has anyone else had experience of being on this that may be able to tell me what it's like and how it was for them please? I'm still to take my mtx injections. Many Thanks X

Hi Abbie I was put on cyclosporin when I was about 15. It helped my PA a fair bit but I started getting side effects that aren't nice when you are 15! I had pins and needles in my hands when I went from hot to cold and vice versa (i.e. from a cool bathroom into a hot bath) and I got really super hairy - moustache and side burns are not attractive on a teenage girl. I didn't get serious side effects but I did not like it one bit so my rheumy then put me on mtx. I hope it works well for you and you don't suffer any side effects. Lou xxx
