Hi Jill great to hear but sad with the news. I've got anaemia but not pernicious . I know another lady who has to have injections and she says she feels a lot better after them. I think RA can cause ordinary aneamia ? Hope you will be able to still post here ;0)

yea seems its bliddy rare.....1 person in 10,000!! and it has to be me again with summat blidddy rare!!!!! grrrrrrrrr, what worries me the most about this Pernicious Anemia is this, my gp printed out all the info(3 pages of info) and on last page states clearly that 4 people out of a hundred get stomach cancer!!!! that is scary, Plus it stated Even If a person does get over the Pern Anemia, a person can still get stomach Cancer simply from the fact they had Pernicious aneamia in the first place!....and also, the part I dont understand is, they r giving me B12 injections, for life!! Y for life?, Y cant it correct itself?? basically my body is attacking the gut!! fab...NOT!....also, thought there mb others in here that have it? no one has said they have, and there r many of us in here......I seem to get all the Rare type disease........Reiters for one! very rare, and on top of that Degenerated Tendons in shoulders, which means I have the Tendons that 80year olds get.....anyway, im doing it again, rambling, and full of angerrrr!! thats y i had to leave the forum, as it was making me upset, as talking about this condition just ingrains in into my brain that im very poorly!.....soz for going on guys x

You are just one rare bird Jill! And I mean that in a good way :) Seriously though, try not to get too hung up on the stats. I know a woman in her 80's with pernicious anaemia and she is fine. One of the things in your favour is that they know your risk is increased so they can monitor you and do tests (I know! I know! you don't need any MORE tests!) but at least they will be on the look out for any nasties. Not surprised you are angry though but don't desert the forum because you have a lot to offer others. It's good to take a break from us all from time to time :)
take care.
xx

hi Jill, you put a lot into helping others and that is great but you've also got to look after yourself as you know :) Sometimes it's hard to get the balance right - not great at it myself.
How are you coping in this heat?
