Subject: Re: Buprenorphine (pain relief) patches
Glad to hear the patches are working. Different things seem to work for different people. I've always avoided any kind of drugs wherever possible and have found 3 alternative treatments at different times over recent years that have given me safe pain relief. The first was Emu Oil, which you rub into the affected joints and which does give some relief if you don't mind smelling lke the Christmas turkey! (You can order it online from various outlets). The second is a pen type device that administers small electric shocks that apparently block the pain messages to the brain (see www.paingonepen.co.uk ). And the one that works best for me is collagen hydrolysate capsules. Evidently the cartilage and lubrication of arthritic joints (at least in osteoarthritis) can be restored by taking these over a period of time. So they address the disease itself, not just the symptoms. I started feeling quite dramatic results within a few weeks but I'm told it can take several months. (I buy mine on a 3 for 2 offer from www.proto-col-products.co.uk ) Good luck with finding the holy grail!
