Subject: Varicella Vaccination
Hey, wondered if anyone could advise me here. I'm due to start methotrexate treatment but as I'm not immune to chickenpox, I have to have the varicella (chickenpox) vaccine before commencement. My rheumatologist told me to arrange this with my GP, which after some hassle I have done, but they're apparently having trouble finding a supplier to order it in from as they don't routinely stock it. At this rate, I'm going to end up at my next check up appointment having not even started therapy! Especially considering that the vaccination has to be given as two doses 6-8 weeks apart, followed by a blood test 4 weeks later. Does anyone know of anyway I might be able to get it faster? Preferably without having to pay for it, although that may end up being necessary...
