Subject: Mtx question! Any answers by end of Sun If poss please!
Hi guys! I do my mtx injections on Saturdays. I didn't do it yesterday because I felt really poorly. Can I do it today (sunday) and then next week saturday as usual? I do it on Saturdays because fridays are a good day for me to get my bloods done so If i'd have to wait a full week again i'll just leave it because obviously I can't get my bloods done on a saturday. Any input greatly recieved. Thanks guys! X

I think you are ment to take the next does as soon as possible then ocntinue on your usual day but dont hold me to that as im unsure. Maby it will make you feel the side effects more by having less of a gap between doses?

I would imagine it is the same as the tablets which is what Kirstine has said. What about doing it today and then ringing your rheumy nurse on Monday to check about next week's dose?

I ended up calling outta hours GP for advice and yes it was fine to do my injection today and then next Saturday! :-) Thanks guys for your help! X

hi Abbie, glad you got that sorted out :)
I'm really rubbish at the moment and realised it cos the depo injection has worn off. Seeing rheumy on Wed and hoping for another one. Had to go up to 10mg Mtx grrr!

I've been relying on depot and oral steroids recently but can't have anymore till I've had all my toe nails taken off as they won't heal so well. Last time I saw Rheumy He put me on oral steroids and gave me a depot injection, said to increase mtx shots from 15mg to 20mg and was gonna find out from neuro If I could have infliximab/Remicade and I needed to be seen in 12wks. Well since then Due to mouth sore infections have to stay at 15mg, had to come off steroids coz of toe nails and had to have morphine increased. Due to be seen on 12th July but not had apt through yet. As in so much pain and so much swelling called today to find out when apt is and told i'm on a waiting list. WTF! X

Oh Abbie, you sound in a really bad way hun. Why don't you ring your rheumy tell him you can't wait any longer? I would, you shouldn't have to be left on a waiting list. What hospital do you go to?
