Subject: Unusual Presentation - No Diagnosis

Hey, just wondered if anyone had any experience of my situation that might be able to help.

I was suspected of having an arthritis due to pain and inflammation in my hands and a couple of other joints, followed by a positive rheumatoid factor. Was seen by a rheumatologist, RF was found to be around the same value although inflammatory markers (ESR and CRP) were low.

More blood drawn and a steroid shot, followed by a month and a half wait. Rheumo was a bit puzzled by the fact I had low ESR and CRP again, high RF *and* a positive HLA-B27, but negative Anti-CCP!

I've been started on methotrexate for the time being (awaiting radiological findings and follow up appointment in a couple of months) but I'm left for the moment in limbo. I obviously have some sort of condition, but no idea what it is?

Hmm, not sure because it doesn't seem to come in distinct attacks. Also, reviewing some literature it seems that anti-CCP is frequently associate, which would still make for an unusual presentation...

Hello Mike, i hv a fried of mine hvng rheumatoid artrities and was on quite a lot of alopathy medications. Then i recommended her to try some very effective aloe vera products, as this is plant also called "miracle plant" which contains so many medicinial benefits. I have seen many people been perfectly fine and healthy now. Plz feel free to know more about it. Thanks & Regards, Dinesh

Um, thanks Dinesh, but my problem is not to do with my medication, I just want to know what my diagnosis is. Also, I can find no scientific or medical literature suggesting Aloe vera to be of therapeutic benefit.

As far as i know you can have a positive R.F. and not have inflammatory arthritis. Also you can have a positive HLA-B27 and not have arthritis. Conversely you can have negative results for either of these tests and have one of the inflammatory arthritides. This probably doesn't help you very much and i can only suggest you go to your next appointment armed with a list of questions, which hopefully they will be able to answer. It is likely that they will be monitoring your response the the meds to help with an eventual diagnosis.
Best wishes
