Subject: Anyone else get hip/groin pain ?
I was diagnosed with RA in March and put on Plaquenil. Still getting new swellings on fingers and right wrist. But last night I was just layed on the bed watching TV when I got the most horrendous pain in the top of my left leg/inner groin area. Thankfully it was not for long but it felt like I was being stabbed. Feels sore and stiff this morning and I'm soooo tired. I was diagnosed with OA of the hips and back a long time ago so I don't know if it's the RA or OA. Anyone else had a pain like this in this area please ??

I have - I never had pain in my hips before but turned over in bed one night and heard a sort of snapping sound, turns out it was the cartilege snapping. Anyway, since then I had pain in my hip but mostly felt as though someone was stabbing me in the groin up towards the hip. It was Psoriatic Arhritis (which I'd had for quite a few years). I did have to have hip replacement surgery within a couple of months but my rheumy was surprised that I'd not had pain in the hip before the snapping incident as he said I'd probably had pa in the hip joints for years! I hope the pain stays away and doesn't come back too soon. Lou x

Thanks Lou . Thought it was somebody with a Voodoo doll of me sticking pins in or somethin HeHe. At least it was a quick pain not like the aching tooth achy pain you get with Arthritis. Will have to mention it to the Rheumie when I go next at the end of June. I've got my daughters wedding on the 19th June so I'm hoping nothing happens before then :0(x

Hi there..yes I can certainly relate to this. I have had this exact trouble for over a year now. My mobility in left leg is the worse part. Pain like stabbing,shooting down the inner and top of thigh and groin. I was diagnosed with RA october last year. Also have OA and fibromyalgia. So sorry to hear you are having this carry on! I would see your GP to see what he says. I take gabapentin for it. It helps a little but I can feel it all the time still. (((hugs))) x

Thanks Nicky. Well what a coincidence I have Fibromyalgia as well as OA and RA and it's my left leg that is worse although Xrays show more damage to my right hip ???? weird.Have had to walk with a stick for a couple of years now due to arthritis damage in my left ankle. Not had anything like the pain the other night though [ thank you God ] !! I just take Solpadol for the pain. xx
