Hi Oldie, I have a similar burning sensation in my right shoulder and shoulder blade, my rheumatoid specialist has confirmed that the arthritis has spread throughout most of my body now and is putting me on a new medication in 2 weeks time as I can no longer take methatrexate due to my liver shutting down. Have you seen a specialist yet and if so what have they prescribed to deal with the pain?? I personally found the steroid injection that my GP gave me worked really well, but unfortunately, due to the nature of the drug, you can only have so many in a short space of time. Let me know how you get on. L

Hello oldie! I had an episode with my shoulder in March o6. I have osteo and Rheumatoid arthritus. The pain started in my shoulder and quickly became so painful I was passing out. I went into shock. I was virtually paralized for a few days. I wonder what it is about shoulders, the arthritus seems to like so much. Have you tried slow release tramadol? I also have a good anti inflamatory called celobrex. It's a case of trial and error with the pain killers; finding which ones work best for you. Best wishes Lyra
