Subject: Does anyone else ever get this?
Ive had this wierd feeling down my right side, cant really describe it...kind of like a numbness but the top of my arm is agony almost my shoulder and my elbow is in agony.
Ive had it for about a month now.

Hiya Sharon i had that last year use to get it in both my shoulders and neck and the arm, i know what you mean about it being hard to describe it, i use to get it at night time the worst and sometimes it would be that bad it would wake me up. I had steriods injected inbetween the muscles of the shoulders and have never had it again since (touch wood lol) might be worth you mentioning it to your gp or specialist nurse.

I get that too when my shoulders are really flared up. In fact, I've been having it at night time. I get discomfort in the whole shoulder area and a pain in my armpit. I get that weird sort of numb feeling with it. When I'm laid in bed I find that my whole arm goes to sleep and I get pins and needles when I move sides. I'm sure it's all a normal part of Arthur but is worth mentioning to the doc as they may be able to give you a steroid injection.

I use to get it in my neck too i would deffo mention seriods or stronger painkillers. Let us know how you get on at the doctors

Sharon, could be Tondonitits> i get that....i get pain shnooting up into my neck fromn my shoulders as my tendons in shoulderd r thinning(degenration) apparently my shoulder Tendons r age of 75/80 year old, so when I do reach that age(if Unlucky) they will be aged over 100...fab huh....go c doc tho ok x

To start back on the sulfasazaline and see how I get on. Hopefully the pain will start to ease. Will give it another couple of weeks.

Hi all, I had pain down my arm and a numb feeling on the inside of my elbow. Docs traced it to my neck, worn joints aggravating the nerves which run down the arm. I had some physio to improve my posture and the movement in my neck. If the symptoms come on again, I can usually ease it by changing my posture, lifting my head up, lowering my chin, putting my shoulders back. Might be worth a try in case its a similar type of thing for anyone else. I never would have thought it was a problem with my neck!
