Subject: At your lowest point did you find music helped to lift your spirits and which song?

Hi all,

When i was off work and unable to walk or do anything for well over 6 months i seriously considered calling it a day but listening to one song lifted my will to live, it was Everybody Hurts by REM.

At your lowest point or even normal times which song helped to lift your spirits?

Marilyn Manson is good stuff, i like Less we forget his best of, theres a few covers but still good.
Also love Marillion too, the start of Misplaced Childhood is amazing.
I think music plays a great part in how you feel, if i want to be agressive before i go out running or surfing i put on good old Rage against the Machine.

These lyrics are amazing;
"Light switch, yellow fever crawling up your bathroom wall,
singing psychadelic phrases to the depths of a china bowl"
from "he knows you know" marillion.

Saw them live back in 1992.

Paul I luv their music but my kids say " you would go mad Mum if you actually knew the words they were singing " !!. So I'll just enjoy the music and not think about what they are actually saying HeHe. I've got their DVD " LICHTSPEILHAUS " with their musics vids and live performances - it's brill !! Yeah luv Du Hast I've got it for my ringtone !! My daughters saw them live in Manchester not that long ago.

Was thinking last night the one that sticks out in my mind for the feel good - cant sit still factor has got to be Rollercoaster of Love by the Chillies. I can't resist not boogying [ well sort of ] to that one - albeit with the aid of my walking stick !!

Yeh, he has arthritis. Was walking with a stick a few yrs ago. Hes also anorexic (he was anyway) havent looked into them for a while.

Thats an interesting article. Its true, a lot of their songs tend to have alternative meanings etc. Theres a song called 'Ana's Song' thats all about his anorexia. Its quite good. I prefer the earlier stuff though : ) Have a listen to their first album 'Frogstomp' its REALLY good : )
