Subject: Arthritis & Well-being
Hello! I have had chronic reactive arthritis for the past 9 years.which was triggered by an infection I got just before the birth of my first daughter. Although I was at first severely disabled by the ReA (and unable to care for my little one), with lots of help and encouragement (and I think just plain stubbornness on my part!) I eventually worked my way out of the wheelchair, to a walker, and now I only require a cane to walk outside. So I know firsthand how important it is to maintain your well-being while living with arthritis. I am also, ironically, a researcher from the Health & Well-being lab at the University of Windsor who studies how people adjust to arthritis. I am currently conducting an on-line research survey on arthritis & well-being that examines how you thoughts about yourself, your goals, and your future are related to your coping with arthritis, and how these may change over time. I would greatly appreciate it if you could take the time (about 30 to 40 minutes) to complete a survey about the effects of arthritis on you and your life. The survey is available on-line here: http://www.uwindsor.ca/Arthritis_study Your responses will contribute to the growing knowledge about how to improve well-being for others who struggle with the challenge of living with arthritis. Thank you for reading this and I hope you have a great pain free day!
