Subject: Never EVER take anything for granted.

I went back to work today after easter (I was off Tues and Weds) to find that a girl I work with, Claire, had been off work the last two days and no one had heard from her since sunday. Work had phoned the police concerned. Yesterday they found her dead in her bead. She was a wonderful wonderful person and will be greatly missed. I still can't believe shes gone. She was only 23. She went to the docs a couple of weeks ago with chest pains and they sent her off with painkillers. Painkillers!

Why is it always so unfair? Why is it always the good people that suffer? I well and truly took it for granted that she'd always be there. Not for one second would I have expected the news I got today.

From now on I vow never to take anything for granted ever again.

Oh my god Verity, that is so sad. It's always tragic when somebody so young loses their life. It's been a very bad year, many of my friends have lost someone in their family, including me losing my Mum. Any death is a loss for us all. You'll probably be in shock for a few days so try and take it easy if you can.

just posted YOU on other link. We are chasing each other's tails tonight! It's really upsetting when something like that happens. As you say, can't take anything for granted. I've had news of two people dying today, one an old family friend who I knew was ill and another one who had a heart attack and died in his sleep. Too many this year.
I'm ok though, feeling a bit better than last week.

Oh Sally, thats terrible. I didn't realise you'd had bad news too. Are you OK? Any death is just so hard to get your head round. I broke down last night when I was getting ready for bed. I think everythings just getting a bit too much for my head recently. i feel a bit better but Ive been dreading work today. Its not going to bad but everyones just so aware that its all wrong here.

Sandra - thats terrible news. Poor poor parents.

hi Verity, I'm fine thanks. Was a very bad day for news yesterday. How was work today? It probably helped you all to be with other people who knew her. I hope you got some comfort from your colleagues.

My ankles are really bad today - think the steroid jab is wearing off. Also got strange swelling and bruise on my wrist. I'm not aware of anything causing it. Got sore throat too. That must be the methotrexate - which isn't bloomin' well working yet as far as I am aware. I do feel very tired and croaky, keep thinking am coming down with something but never do. Tried to ring rheumy nurse several times this week but she's not there. Grrr!

Thanks Verity, for some reason they felt better this morning. Not great but better :)

Bet you can't wait for your op now! Hope you get some good tips tonight. Did you read that Jill is in hospital again? She's been really unwell lately but still keeps up her good humoured posts, I don't know how she does it. Don't half miss her on here though :)
