Subject: mxt injections help
just wondering if anyone else is on theses and beenin sick am always sick on the day i take them and now last night felt awful and was throwin my guts up and lost my appitte just wondering if this is normal thanks

hi karen, not on the injections, so cant comment....but I do know MTX makes us sick, but over time, our bodies do eventually get used to that medicine, I dont think whether having tablet form or injections makes the med any differnt in how it works within us....I think Just the MTX makes us unwell...my rhummy told me it will always make 'US feel off it'....take care, others will support u with the injection form..x

hi thanks for that the tabs were okish but feel really sick and ill and dont like this feelin feel weak and shakes ect :(

Hi Karen, when I started takin 25mg of MTX (tablets) I felt how youre describing It was horrendous, every week. Its calmed down now after a few months and I just get very tired and feel a bit sick. Id say it sounds pretty normal but youre obviously very sensitive to it. Have you told your rhummy?

Hi Karen! When I was on pills I was very sick but now i'm on injections just a bit nauseous. I get extremely wiped out though and feel generally out of sorts for a few days. I'm due to have my 4th tomorrow and if I remember right, you started same time as me. I guess we just have to stick with it. Roll on the 6wks so I can see If it's having any effect. I'm having horrible flare right now.

25mg Verity is soooooooooo High......lower the dose like me, u wld cope, im on 15mg now, much better on that dose than b4 17.5 and with enbrel.....i dont understand y some rhummys put ppl on such high doses, becos after all, ive had so ma ny corrective surgeries, so mine is stable, its severe, just dont get it.....im sure that amount is bound to make anyone vomit!.....my bio nurse, reckons 17.5 is high enuff....but my nutrifils have dropped to a better level and i feel MTX wise, im coping better, so all good...

I am on 20mg of mxt tablet form and it does make me feel sickly and tired for at least the day I have taken it and the next day. They increased my dose gradually as the lower dose didnt seem to be doing much, then again neither is the higher dose :( I also lost over a stone when I first started taking it as I too lost my appetite. Speak to your Rheumy and see what he/she has to say but the side affects you are experiencing sound exactly like mine x

hi karen i havent been on forum for a while but i was like you when i first started mtx constantly being sick and feeling horrid think i suffered every side effect out there i was on 25mg tablets so after a few months they decided to change me to injectable it took me a few wks to sort out the dosage that suited me but i am know on 22,5mg the sickness has stopped i still suffer with headaches the day after injection and feel really tired the nxt couple of days but overall it has been alot better then tablets it just a case of sticking it out until you find a dose that suits you personnally wish u well and hope it settles down soon,hi jill how you doing i know i havent been on for a while just been going through a rough patch and havent felt like doing much back at hosp tomorrow to see rheumy specialist see what he has tosay seem to be going through a flare up at min and not my usual cheerful self hope your stomach settled down a bit sending you Hugs lol

hi karen i was on tablets but was just so sick so put me on injection 25mg violently ill sick all night and next day took it next week same thing happened, cut the story short they put me on enbrel

Hi sandra, do u feel better on Enbrel? im on on that along with 15mg(recently reduced dosage from 17.5) combined it works better for me.....
Shazzzaaaaaaaaaaa ((9hugs again 4 u ))))) sorry ya so low, hopefully u will begin to pick up again x im ok, been told im having Gall Bladder removed, and this morning told im on the Urgent list....but how long il wait, who knows...but will chase it up weekly! tc xxx
