Subject: hydrotheropy have you tried it

hi all nipped into rhumotology today while i was getting my bloods redone, i wanted a support for my knee they told me they didnt want to give me one as im to young they said when you wear knee supports it wastes your knee muscle away and they didnt want to risk that at mt age as im 23,
instead of a knee support they are refuring me to physio which i wasnt to pleased with as i have been there and done that and it didnt help. they have also suggest i use the hydrotheropy pool i was just woundering if anyone had used the pool and if it realy does help

I really liked hydrotherapy. The temperature is much higher than a normal pool which helps the circulation. It's really good, much better than regular physio. Go for it!

I must admit i have tried the hydrotherapy, but because i do not like water very much, if it comes above my chest i panic, so to be honest although i hear good things about it, for me i came out stiffer than before i went in, through being a coward.

Kylee it fantastic !! We do feel a bit sore when we come out I think it's because you feel really heavy after the weightless feeling you get in the water. If you don't like water the Physio will guide you through it. Our pool wasn't deep anyway. Go for it - you might just like it !!

personally i loved the warmth but found the exercises did nothing for me and i could do them in a normal swimming pool anyway using floats etc.
Going became a chore as i saw no benefit and i was pretty fit anyway and the physio agreed i was not benefiting.
Pool was too small also.
