Diazepam is not a painkiller but can be used as a muscle relaxant. I've had it for back pain. It makes you feel completely out of it, it's horrible. Can't your doctor give you some stronger painkillers?

Karen hi, what they told u at the hosp, whoever it was, was Wrong to ttell u that, like Sally said, Diazapam is Muscle relaxant, for spasms, its deffo NOT a painkiller, Im on them, I find them gr8( we r all different, for example, Diazapam makes a person kinds slow up, relaxed, sleepy, they help My spasms in my upper back, but thery keep me AWAKE, lol its tru, they dont knock me out at all, never have...even my GP thort that odd, But its tru.....codine and paracetamol that u take, U may as well be taking Smarties, the Nerve pain U describe, U wld be better taking Amitryptline...its for Nerve pain, so it sems to me, U need Amitryptline for Nerve pain, and decent, stronger painkilers, like Tramodol, cant understand Y your GP hasnt offered these to u...that is Y u r in agony, becos your pain isnt controlled enough!..see GP Immed tc

So that's your secret Jill :).
They make me want to sleep all the time. - though I guess if you were in a lot of pain they might relax you. I used to like being out of it but not any more lol! I find combination of amiryptiline and co-drydamol works quite well for moderate pain. Nothing works for me for severe pain.

amitryptline makes me unwell, cant take that for nerve pain at all....diazapam is good for me if I take one, I also take co-codomol, they help lots combined with Zomorph, if pain is bad, still can be painful tho, and cant go any higher, think ya right there Sally, when the pain is diabolical, nothing takes that type of pain away...u coping at the mo tho?

I'm ok thanks. Got terrible heartburn from the lower dose steroids. For some insane reason they don't enteric coat them like the higher dose so have been up all night with that. Feel less tired this week, which is good. How are you getting on? Hope you are coping ok with everything that life is throwing at you :)

It's right that Amitriptyline is for nerve pain And depending what dose ur on it'll relax u and help u sleep. Co Codamol (paracetamol and Codine) weren't strong enough for me so now take Co Dydramol (paracetamol and dyhydracodine) there better for me as there that much stronger and I take them with Tramadol.

Aren't we an interesting lot? We seem to cover just about every condition between us!

Abbie, does the domperidone make you hungrier? -GP said it speeds up food passing through gut. Didn't take it as doing weight watchers - trying to shift the steroid weight I put on.

Jill, not another spine op! I can't believe it.
