Subject: Cramp?

Hi guys! Wander If u can help me? Over the last few weeks I've been getting cramp in various parts of my body about 5 times a day. Did hear potassium supplements would help but when asked pharmacist today He said that's not so. He said can't take over the counter stuff coz of one of my meds and If it bothers me to see the GP. Just wandered If anyone else gets this? If it's to do with the arthritis and If anyone can suggest anything? Thanks guys X

Flamin eck diazepam sounds like an extreme med for cramp! Do you get the effects of the drug emotionally too? That sounds 'orrible. The amount of different meds your on Jill, Im surprised your conscious! I think Id be asleep all the time!

As long as it does the trick : )

lol Verity...u wont beleive me if I tell U this, but its tru....Ican take 3 Diazapam....and im awake alllllllll blidddy rotttten night!, I take Diazapam carefully, Only If my back is in spasm, when those muscles contract, its painful, the Zomorph is painkkiller, and very slowly over the years ive had to go up, began on 30, now on 100mg day and night! I also take Oramorph(if in ultra Agony) but that makes me feel ill, so avoid! my meds that I take, dont make me feel emotionally better, or less happy.... they have their own reasons for working on diff parts of my body! but im checked every mnonth when have bloods, and every 3 month when I c my Bio nurse....im careful, as i have to think of my Liver....diazaspam is no biggy tho, guessd ive gotten use to it, but it does work if u deffo need it....i wont take any at night now, cos i dont sleep, so just in the day, when I know Im not driving!

Thats a shame you cant sleep on it. Come to think of it, when I was on anti d's a few years ago they had a similar effect but i was on sleepin tabs at the same time. Then I slept! lol i suppose with us having blood tests so often it gives us chance to try stuff and then come off it straight away if its bad.

How are ya doin today Jill?

Spoke to nurse this morn and shes prescribed me Tramadol. Toms gonna pick it up from the chemist at 1 for me. What are your views and experiences with Tramadol?? Nice to know how others have coped.

Reagrds Tramodol, when I first went on it, it was BLISS for me in terms of it helping the pain, AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZZing!, plus when u first take it, makes yu feel all warm and fuzzy inside(did me anyway) lol...im going to assume they will give u a low dose to begin with, and build u up to slightly higher if it doesent work....make sure to eat either b4 or after, some ppl it makes them so sleeepy, it did me initially, but I had no choice and had to perservere, do U drive at mo? if yes, be careful, cos they r strong, I personally foune them great, but I got use to them, was on 8 a say, but took 10, told rhummy that , and he put me on Transtec patches(again worked for a bit, then changed over to Zomorph100mg day and at night(massive dose) but there ya go, what have u been on painkiller wise?

Havent been able to take codeine in any higher a dose than the 8/500 until recently. Well bout 4 months ago. Ive had to kind of wean myself onto them because they gave me such bad stomach pains (and still do occassionally). So ive ben on up to 2 four times a day with the 30/500. Theyve never been particularly helpful and im takin so many that i thought it was about time i did sommet about it.
The nurse said to take 1 up to 4 times a day so that sounds like the low dose to start with. I hope to god they help, even for a short amount of time would be a nice break.
I do drive, I have a 45 mile round trip a day to work and back so am gonna take them when I get to work and start the day on the 30/500's instead. At least until I know how they affect me. I'm at home today though coz im feeling really shite so get to try them in a little while.

How you feeling today lady?

Yea im ok...tired, began eating again now, so no doubt all the weight I lost, I will regain, hope not tho, cos my fella prefers me slim lolol or slimmer I shld say.... for u 1 a day will deffo be affective, if u take one later when fella gets back, take it, and see how u get on, IF u feel crap tomoz, and cant drive, dont go in, but mb begin them on fri, over the weekend, u dont have to wait for them to kick in,(think im right, havnt used them for 7 years, cant really remember, but think they work immed, well after half hour or so) just take it easly. x
