Subject: feeling useless and pathetic
Hi Humans have had ra for two years now ignored it at first, started in hands now in wrists, elbows shoulders neck hips knees and feet very very board now pain quite unbarable at times have a beautiful 10 month old baby boy who i am struggling to pick up at times just need to know i am not alone am just about to give in to the big drugs tried mtx not good at all just about to start Leflunomide anyone out there with any experiance anything would be greatly appreaciated at this moment thanks. jae (((hugs))) must be so hard with a small child take what you need to to get things under control and try to spend quality time with your little one can not help with drugs as early on in all this and have oa and ia

thanks for that val just so bloody frustrating one minuite im up and about (with sore hands) next day i cant lift my arms above my shoulders a little consistancy from this wouldn't go a miss i too have ia and oa but its the ra thats knocking me sieways at the moment feel like i could sleep for a week i think sometimes i'm going a little mad but then i remember the drugs i'm on arn't exactly personallty enhancers (steroids) sorry just needed someone to sound off at please feel free to use me for the same regards and hugs Jae

hi jae it does your head in it my knees at moment was feet and hands then neck moves and drives me mad as well and some times no energy at all even walking so much effort do manage to work 4 hours a day but sometimes worry for how much longer on good days no prob but the bad ones well you know

Hi Jae, I know the feeling! I'm on steroids and mtx and nothing much is working. Like you have good days and bad days but no idea what I am going to have from day to day. I am trying to be patient but easier said than done!

Hey Jade, keep ur chin up it will get better, i know at times it feels like your at the bottom of a big black hole but it does get better - i felt like that about 2yrs ago but since then the dr has got me on a combination of drugs that works and i am doing all the things i used to do again. I cant imagine how tough it is with a little one as well. I hope someone on here who has experienced this will be able to help you with it and give you some little tips. I was a really active person before i got RA and even now i am more stable i have had to learn to pace myself, i try not to over do things and stop and have little breaks in between or over a few days so i dont get to exhausted as find this makes my RA worse - ur prob thinking how the hell do i do that with a baby and i cant imagine how hard this is but hope ur feeling better soon sorry i cant help anymore than that! hugs Kirsty

Hi Jae, we all have a good old whinge in here, does us all good, cos we know we are not alone...ive got artha bad too...and all my soft tissues are crap!....im on mTX and Enbrel...gotta tell ya Jae that going on Enbrel, the Anti TNF Bilogics have made the best difference to me...so there is some light at the end of that long tunnel...have u spoken to the consultants about the Bio Meds? I have 5 children here, 23 down to 11 and that is hard work, basically becos of the amount of washing it all causes, an the Ironing, which I cant do, my good fella does thank god! jae do u claim DLA? hope ya do...ya deserve it...plus Occupational Therapist support? they give grab rails and anything in your house to make your life better....alll free good luck
