I have no idea what I 'should' be taking but I take Multi vits and the seven seas cod liver oil and glucosamine in one capsules. Ive havent felt any better from them, just thing I should at least be giving my body a chance! lol Ayone that is taking multi vits and is on MTX, see how much folic acid is in them. I dont take my multi vits on the day of my MTX.

Hiya Sally, I asked my rhummy about cod liver oil and mtx and he said it was okay to take. I take vit c powder to, and evening primrose oil,and magnesium, and I haven't had any bad reactions yet.

Hi Angela, that's interesting, I'll have to ask again. They said no to Vit C and evening primrose too! I guess different consultants have different views. How are you these days?

I shouldn't worry about it overly Verity. It was just that the rheummy nurse when through it all when was first prescribed MTX. I do know you shouldn't take echinacea as it can damage your liver and Mtx is heavy on the liver. I think that is the only concern as far as I am aware.

Hiya Sally, I am fine thanks, no bad reactions to the mtx. (touch wood) It has made a huge difference to my esr and crp after only 6 months, they have gone right down, after nearly 2 years of high inflammation. I think you are right different consultants have different views. If I started feeling ill, I would cut them out anyway, but I think they actually help to keep me well. All my family have had off days, and colds over the winter but I have been fine, and I didnt have the swine flu jab either. With the grandchildren coming here every day after school. I thought I was bound to pick up something but I haven't (touch wood again lol) What about you?

Hi Angela, good to hear you are ok. Glad the mtx is going well. I am tolerating it well too, a few mouth ulcers and a nasty chest infection a few weeks back but that's all. I saw my Dad a couple of weekends ago and he had a bad cold but I didn't get it - though we went through about 3 bottles of hand gel between us that weekend! You may well be right about vit C - am seeing my consultant next week and will add it too the list of questions I need to ask him lol! Unfortunately, have had to go up on the steroids as my joints were really playing up. I don't like the side effects but will deal with them later. It is a relief to be able to do stuff again, last week was terrible, a couple of days could hardly do a thing. But overall am well,if just a little frustrated at not being able to do my usual things. Guess that will improve when my joings do.
