Subject: hydrotherapy baths

Hi guys We are thinking of putting a hydrotherapy bath in at home as both me and my dad have RA I just wondered if anyone had any experience with them and found them good for stiff joints or not??? do they get hot enough etc.?? Thanks

My occ health nurse at work referred me to a physio with our local Virgin Active gym for several sessions. I used a heated 'spa pool' with graduating steps that doubled as a hydro pool for several sessions. I liked the fact that the pool was easy to get into and they buoyancy of the water supported my joints while I was in it allowing me to do things that I would not normally be able to do, like squat. So I could have a mini low impact routine set out for me. Only thing was that everything still hurt when I got out of the water and onto dry land as if I had done it out of the water! It was great for relaxing and reducing pain while I was in it, but I hated leaving the water. If I had one at home I would live in it!

Thanks everyone, i think it is more like the size of a normal bath with water and air jets in.. im not sure if you could get ur whole self in it at once or it it wud be the same probs of a normal bath like either ur shoulders of knees get cold, n think it would still be diff to get in and out - but going to look this wkend. so will update you then
