Hi Kazzie, well done, its goood to hear good news like that....my best m8 had an amazing wet room put in her bathroom, fab....ive got grab rails etc and a pillow riser(cost OT dept £500.00) its remote control, press the button and it blows up like a huge pillow and helps u rise out of bed, but the gr8 thing about it is, that u can pump it up to any level, and it cushions the shoulders, and i can sleep on my sides without pain.......tc Jill

Verity, get some new taps from the OT, Kazzie had new ones fitted, remember u saying that u cry when u turn the taps, broke my heart when i read that, Please ring them and ask, u deserve them.

Kirsty, I have shoulder trouble as u know, ive just had a pillow riser, remote control gadget that pumps up the pillow part, lies on the bed, pumps up to soft cushiony pilllow(use pillow on top too) or pumps up to get a person otta bed, brilliant, made major diff to me and my shoulders, can sleep comfy at long last.....yayyyy 4 the OT dept....jill

When I spoke to OT a long long time agao (havent heard anything since!) they said theyd pay for someone to fit them but we have to buy the taps ourselves? Is this right? This is OT at the hosp by the way not the council, not sure if it makes a difference??
Physio keep saying theyre getting on to them but theyre not having any response! Whats wrong with them for gods sake!

I had the Adaptations Team from my local council come out to look at my house and they put me in grab rails in the front yard and against my front door, new banister on the stairs, risers for my settee and arranged for a walk in shower to be installed. They would have done a riser for my bed as well but it was already pretty high. I can't recommend the service enough. Very thorough and free of charge. Everything is still the property of the council, but it may as well be mine.
